The Westbank Dental Team

Our team is ready to take care of you!

Sunny Danesh, DDS

Dr. Sunny Danesh was born in Atlanta, Georgia but grew up in Montgomery, Alabama.  She completed the six year combined BA/DDS program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  After graduation in 2001, she finished an esthetics fellowship at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA.  Following 17 years of private practice, Dr. Danesh relocated from Boston to Austin to be closer to family and to escape the New England winters.  Between the sunshine and live music, she could not be happier with her decision.

Dr. Danesh values building relationships centered on trust and compassion with her patients.  She believes in slowing down and listening to her patients’ desires and concerns.  Her priority is delivering quality care.

Aside from dentistry, her great passion is traveling the world.  She has visited five of the seven continents. Hands down, New Zealand ranks highest among her favorite countries.  Also, Dr. Danesh loves to cook up delicious, flavor-filled Persian food.  Dr. Craft is always first in line to eat it. She enjoys gardening and specializes in looking after her many orchids.

Emily Craft, DDS

Dr. Craft was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia.  She graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Biomedical Engineering before attending dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University. After graduation, she relocated to Austin because of its outstanding reputation and her desire to experience life in a different part of the country.

Dr. Craft chose to become a dentist for a multitude of reasons. Dentistry perfectly combines her love of art with her love of science. Also, it allows her to help others by participating in mission work. While in dental school, she was involved in the Mission of Mercy Project, which provided dental care to low-income people in remote areas of Virginia. She has also traveled to Ecuador, Peru, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Myanmar with Global Health Outreach.  Her most recent mission trip took her to Kenya to work at the Girls’ Rescue Center started by Saruni International.

Locally, Dr. Craft volunteers regularly with the HOPE Dental Clinic which provides free dental care for Austin refugees. She feels there’s no greater joy in this world than serving those in need, and she seeks to live daily to “love your neighbor as yourself”.

Outside of work, traveling the world is her favorite thing to do.  To bring purpose to travel, she recently started a travel blog!

Ashley Kaysen, RDA, CDA

Office Manager and Dental Assistant

Ashley has worked in dentistry for over 15 years. She will assist you at your dental visit from start to finish, and she can answer most any question about your treatment! Ashley’s favorite part about dentistry is restoring people’s smiles so that they can then go and share it with the world. Ashley was born and raised in California and moved to Austin over 6 years ago to experience the wide variety of live music and friendly people. Ashley loves being around animals, spending time outdoors, relaxing with a good book, and learning new painting techniques. Her artistic eye is used every day at Westbank Dental to help deliver excellent dentistry to our patients!

Amanda Birdsong, RDH

Dental Hygienst

Amanda brings many years of experience as a hygienist to Westbank Dental.  She graduated with a BS in dental hygiene from Midwestern State University in 1999.

Originally from Oklahoma, she has settled in Austin with her husband and two teenage boys.  Between sports, fishing, and camping, they all keep her super busy!

Amanda’s sweet and caring nature makes her a natural at connecting with patients.  She would love to meet you and have the opportunity to provide you with a thorough and gentle cleaning!

dental assistant jessicaJessica made ATX her home in 1999 and remembers when it was a “small town”.  She started her career as a dental assistant over fifteen years ago, and she shares her compassion and empathy with Westbank Dental patients everyday.  We are so grateful to have such a skilled and competent assistant on our team!

In her free time, she partners with her church, ANC, and volunteers at Casa Marianella/Posada Esperanza and Under the Bridge Ministry.  Jessica stays active taking her 90lb. yellow lab, Lola Marie, on walks and hikes; loves to run Town Lake; and travels the world whenever possible.  She has volunteered her time and resources on the dental mission field in Mexico, South America, and also here in Austin.

Jessica is always excited to see Westbank Dental patients, and she will make your appointment easy and stress-free!
